Lack of updates....

I'm sorry about the lack of updates and new items on Etsy.. I'm currently on holiday in New York! I'll be back on Monday so expect a lot of new additions to our shop and some lovely photos of New York!

Bootsale booty...

It was raining a tiny bit this morning but we braved the carboot sale anyway. I think its getting near the end of bootsale season and the site was quite empty, but we managed to find some lovely things!
We got a mini sewing machine, a Daring Adventures for Boys book, a EveryReady Figaro shaver, a battered old leather suitcase and 2 beautiful cameras, one from the 1930's and one from thr 50's.

This camera above is from the 1950's or 60's and apparently takes normal camera film, so later on today we're off to buy some and give it a go and see how it works! When the photos are developped I will post them on here!

Change

I changed the colour on the background, I think it makes it better...

Check out the shop to see it in situe!

New banner

I've been fiddling around with our banner but I can't decide whether its better now than how it was before... Anyway here it is..

About RefoundRelics

RefoundRelics is an online Etsy shop selling vintage bits and pieces for your home! Visit our shop!

RefoundRelics was started by a couple named Hannah and Tom who are Art students living in Nottingham, UK. They enjoy cooking fancy foods, trawling through car boot sales and making a mess. RefoundRelics came about when the sheer amount of vintage finds was too much for thier flat and they found themselves climbing over piles of junk to get around..this became slightly dangerous, particularly due Hannah's lack of co-ordination and skill for knocking almost everything over.
The plan for RefoundRelics is to build up a good online business and then one day open a real life shop selling a mixture of vintage finds and locally handmade homewares and accessories.
They also plan to one day buy and renovate a crumbling house in the countryside, grow thier own vegetables and drive a little van.

Birthday Bike

I said I'd open my birthday bike up to show you, so here it is!

I still need to tighten up some of the bolts but as soon as thats done I can go on lovely bike rides! I'm on the look out for the perfect wicker basket to go on the front and perhaps even one for on the back too!

Off to the car boot sale tomorrow so I will keep my beady eye open for one as well as searching for more vintage goodies, I will show you what we find tomorrow!

Postcards and Photos

We've recently gathered a collection of vintage postcards and photographs which are making they're way onto the shop! Visit http://www.refoundrelics.etsy.com/ to see them!
We've got a lovely collection of handwritten postcards from 1952. They were written by a woman called Margaret to her friend Mrs Doris Wray during her trips around the world in 1952. They are very charming and would make such a lovely collection framed and displayed!

We've also got a mini collection of British Wildlife postcards which are very cute!

Here are some of our other finds which have yet to be put onto the shop:

We hope you enjoy looking at our vintage finds!

Treasury

I've made my very first treasury this evening on Etsy :) You can have a look at it here: http://www.etsy.com/treasury/4c93a031b92c8eef639b5119/british-vintage?index=0
I've included only British vintage sellers on Etsy some of whom are doing wonderfully well, some like us are new and some are wandering along in thier own way. I hope you like it!

Parcels

Yesterday we received two very large parcels! One containing lots of vintage goodies we picked up in junk shops in France and the other my birthday present!

My present!

Box of French vintage goodies

So last night I opened up the box of French vintage treasure.. and this is what I found:

As well as a square basket full of balls of wool, a wire basket with wooden handles, a set of 3 hanging red baskets, 3 coffee jars (they're lovely for keeping sugar and stuff in the kitchen...) a copy of Elle Decoration, an enamel milk jug, a cake stand and unfortunatley 2 broken jars (like the ones in the photo) and a broken teapot...

I haven't yet opened the bike as there's not much room in the flat at the moment, but I will get it open today and put a photo up!

Keep an eye out on the shop for our new French goodies!

Our story...

So I thought I'd let you know how RefoundRelics was started...
I am a huge lover of carboot sales, charity shops and junk shops, which causes a lot of space issues in our flat due to a growing collection of vintage pieces and so Etsy seemed the logical way to sort this out! I can now spend my weekends rummaging through junk to find lovely vintage bits and pieces and then clean them up, photograph them and put them on Etsy so all you vintage lovers can appreciate them! (Its still causing space issues...possibly even more than before as I can now give in to the urges to buy eveything!)

Shop updates

We've been busy adding lots more goodies onto the Etsy shop! We've also created a new banner for the shop, here it is:

Take a look at the shop to see some of the new items available! The suitcase in the banner is also on there, just click this link to see it: http://www.etsy.com/listing/56313919/small-brown-shabby-chic-suitcase

Updating our shop!

We've recently started updating some of the older items in our shop to give them a fresh look, and we think you'll agree that they look far better than they did before!
Here are a few examples of our new images!
